Why Documentaries?
Documentary films, or docudramas, are a type of film that provides information about a particular subject. They can be made using different types of media, including photography, oral interviews and video footage.
The word documentary is derived from the Latin word documentum meaning “to give proof” or “to bear witness.” Documentary films have been used as evidence in trials since at least 1897 when Louis and Auguste Lumiere released L’ArrivĂ©e d’un train en gare de La Ciotat.
Why should I watch documentaries?
Documentary films are a great way to learn about the world around you. They are educational, based on facts and can be entertaining.
Here are the top reasons why you should watch documentary films.
Documentary films are educational. They give you the chance to learn about different things that interest you and help you grow as a person. Documentaries can teach us about history, science and politics in a way that textbooks cannot.
Documentaries are based on facts. Documentaries don’t lie to us like some news stories do these days! We can trust them because they’re not biased towards any one side of an issue or event.
Documentaries broaden your mind. Documentaries open our eyes to new ideas and ways of thinking about things that we never thought possible before! This means that when we watch a documentary film, our minds automatically become more open to new ideas which leads to greater creativity in our lives overall.”
