# How to join an event on Cya Live

> Cya is a platform for watching movies, shows and live events together online with friends, creators and audiences, with synced playback, live video interaction and ticketing.

Wondering how to join in an event on Cya Live? Here’s a step by step guide to get you ready: 

1. Make sure you join in on a laptop using the latest version of Google Chrome. If you do not have Google Chrome, you can download it for free here: [https://www.google.com/chrome/](https://www.google.com/chrome/) 
   
   1. **Joining on a laptop/desktop: **Create your free account on [cya.live](https://cya.live/) using your preferred email address.
   2. **Joining on a mobile device: **Download the Cya Live app from the App Store.
2. If you’d like, update your profile info and upload a head shot for your profile picture.
3. Visit the events page to select the event you’d like to attend.
4. On the event landing page click the green “GET TICKET” button to purchase a ticket or enter a coupon code.
5. Once successfully purchased or the coupon has been applied, you’ll receive a confirmation email and the button will change to “TICKET PURCHASED”.
6. When the timer reaches zero, the button will turn to a green “JOIN NOW” button. Click the button to enter the room.
7. Once in the live event you can text chat freely and enjoy!
8. If you’d like to join the video chat, click “JOIN STAGE”. Here you will be screened behind the scenes by a moderator. You’ll need to be wearing headphones (so that there’s no echo for the audience) and ensure you allow the browser access to your web cam and microphone. You can do so in the privacy and site settings of the browser.
9. Once approved, sit tight and follow the prompts for when you’re pushed to stage. You’ll have 15 seconds to click the green check mark to join the video chat once you have been pushed to join the convo. If you don’t click before the 15 seconds are up, the moderator will have to select you again to push you to the stage to video chat.
10. To leave the stage, simply click the red ‘hang up’ icon on stage.
11. Enjoy and we look forward to seeing you live!
