You can delete your CYA account yourself at any time, from the app or the website. Deletion is immediate and permanent.
In the CYA app (iOS and Android)
- Sign in and open the menu, then tap Settings.
- Scroll to Danger zone and tap Delete account.
- Confirm with Delete forever.
On cya.live
- Sign in and open Settings from your profile menu.
- Under Your account, choose Deactivate account.
- Read the notice and confirm.
By email
If you can no longer sign in, email info@cya.live from the address on your account with the subject “Delete my account”. We verify that the request comes from the account owner and then delete the account the same way.
What gets deleted
- Your profile: name, @handle, avatar, bio, and tags.
- Your sign-in: email and password, and any Apple or Google sign-in link. Apple sign-in tokens are revoked with Apple.
- Your personal data: friends, follows, saved and liked events, notifications, and device push registrations.
- Every active session on every device is signed out.
What stays
- Streams you hosted remain available to their audience, with your name and profile removed from them.
- Messages you sent in event chat and group chats remain visible to the other participants, with your name and profile removed.
- Records we are required to keep by law, such as payment and tax records, are kept only for as long as the law requires.
