Agenda: Screening of Gary Hustwit's 10 minute short documentary The Map followed by a panel and Q&A with the filmmaker, Sarah Meyer and Joshua Gee of MTA, and Work & Co’s Felipe Memoria. Moderated by Co.Design editor at Fast Company, Suzanne LaBarre. The Map is a short documentary about a revolutionary redesign of New York City's iconic subway map. Filmmaker Gary Hustwit follows an 18-month partnership between Work & Co, the MTA, and the Transit Innovation Partnership to create a new "live map" — one that updates in real-time — to help New Yorkers and tourists better plan their journeys. The film examines how good design and the latest digital technology can simplify one of the world's most complex transit systems. Join us as we go inside the making of the film and explore the journey to redesign New York City’s iconic subway map and the people driving its digital transformation.
