During the evening we will be premiering an exclusive screening of the BBC Panorama documentary ‘Syria’s Schools Under Attack’ which traces the survivors and families of the children Dr Rola Hallam treated eight years after their school was bombed by an incendiary weapon. The film looks at how profoundly their lives have changed as a result of that day. The screening will be hosted by Lindsey Hilsum, Channel 4 News' international editor and author, followed by a live Q&A with: Dr Rola Hallam - Award winning consultant anaesthetist, international campaigner and public speaker and CEO and Founder of CanDo Darren Conway - Producer and Director of “Syria’s Schools Under Attack” Riyad Alnajem - Co-founder and Executive Director of Hurras Network Campaign and fundraiser introduction from Josie Naughton, CEO and founder of Choose Love. ‘Save Syria's Schools’ campaign fundraiser After ten years of school bombings, we have a plan to protect lives, heal minds and bring hope to Syria's children by providing a breakthrough early warning system to give children and teachers a chance to evacuate and get to safety ahead of an aerial attack. Q&A panellist – Darren Conway (DC) Darren Conway OBE , or DC as he is widely known, is the Producer, Director and Cinematographer for “Syria’s Schools Under Attack”. He has been documenting global events for almost three decades and has been described as “the foremost television cameraman of his generation”. DC is an international news gathering and documentary film maker for the BBC and has worked in Kosovo, Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria. Q&A panellist - Riyad Al-Najem Riyad is the Cofounder and Chief Executive Officer for Hurras Network, our key implementation partner for Save Syria's School campaign. With over 13 years of experience in managing NGOs, he served as a consultant for Syrian civil society organizations, however, Riyad's main focus remained children rights within the context of Syria.
