Author, movie reviewer and former film commissioner Robin Holabird explores Nevada's role in cinema history during her presentation "Elvis, Marilyn, and the Space Aliens." Based on her book of the same title, Robin looks at Nevada's ability to lure iconic characters in unusual circumstances, ranging from Marilyn Monroe as one of The Misfits in Reno to space aliens at Area 51. The space alien connection includes White Pine County, home to a cult favorite called Wizard of Mars. As a 20+ year veteran of the state's Nevada Film Office, Robin recounts many of her adventures helping producers find locations for hundreds of projects, including several in the Ely area. www.robinholabird.com
