Three diverse companies share the stage in Common Ground , a cutting-edge contemporary dance program celebrating unity through dynamic movement. State Street Ballet, Detroit’s Eisenhower Dance, and Santa Barbara Dance Theater came together for the first time in this world premiere performance by award-winning choreographer Edgar Zendejas. This one-night-only event showcased each company in their distinct style, but wove them together as one. Inspired by Max Richter’s recomposed version of Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons”, Zendejas uses his uniquely poetic choreographic style to explore the athleticism of dance, the cycles of life, and the strength of the human condition.
